Segavecchia greets the return of spring
Segavecchia is the oldest festival held in the town of Forlimpopoli. During this festival, whose origins have been lost in the mists of time, myth and legend intertwine with the celebratory atmosphere that envelops the small town with rhythmic music, allegorical floats, lights from the funfair and food stalls. The main event is the “cutting of the old woman”, a symbolic rite that consecrates the passage from winter to spring, which brings with it renewal and prosperity.
